Value-Added Tax (VAT)

VAT is usually added to our fees and certain disbursements if your usual place of residence is the UK, including where you have overstayed your permission to stay. If you are not usually resident in the UK, or you entered the UK without permission or as an asylum seeker and do not yet have permission to stay, VAT will not normally apply.

Third-Party Expenses

Our fees do not include payments due to external organisations or service providers. You are responsible for any such expenses incurred in connection with your matter, including (where applicable):

  • Home Office application fees
  • Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS)
  • Tribunal or court fees
  • Barristers’ fees
  • Fees for expert reports or assessments
  • Interpretation and translation services
  • Travel expenses where we are required to attend appointments, hearings, or meetings outside our office on your behalf
  • Postage, courier, or other delivery charges

The current Tribunal appeal fee is £140 per appellant for an oral hearing, where you attend and give evidence before a judge. If you choose to have your appeal determined on the papers only (without an oral hearing), the fee is £80 per appellant.
