Musthak is the Head of Civil & Criminal Litigation Department at Lawmatic.
He completed the Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) from the prestigious law school at the University of Law and was called to the bar at the Inner Temple in 2017. Musthak studied at Queen Mary (UoL) and has a BA Honours followed by a Graduate Diploma in Law and Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Law. He is a professional linguist with a Diploma in Interpretation in Public Services and a Post Graduate Diploma in Translation from the institute of Linguists.
Musthak brings to the Firm and legal profession vast life experience from a varied career background including the NHS, Metropolitan Police, and the Home Office. In 2009, he was recommended for appointment as a Magistrate by the Lord Chancellor’s Advisory Committee on behalf of HM The Queen.
Musthak has a wealth of experience on Police Station Advice and Representation and a well-deserved reputation for his ability to put Client’s at ease in a highly charged atmosphere while protecting their rights and interests in challenging circumstances during police interviews. He regularly liaises with Counsels to ensure cases are managed effectively at court and arranges and conducts pre-trial conferences with clients and witnesses.
Musthak believes in giving back to the community. He served as a Metropolitan Police Custody Visitor Panel member and made a number of recommendations requiring the police to make improvements to the welfare of the detainees.
Musthak’s life experience combined with his social standing, public relations and advisory skills help him stand as a formidable, creative, and probing advocate who is always striving to obtain the best possible result for each individual client. Musthak speaks Bengali, Sylheti, Urdu and Hindi, fluently.
